The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has expressed grief and offered its condolences to the families affected by a tragic road accident that claimed 16 lives on Monday, July 28, 2025.

In a statement released on July 31, 2025, the Management of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and associations impacted by the incident, while also wishing a swift and full recovery to those injured. "The Authority extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and Associations affected by this unfortunate event.

We also wish those injured a speedy and full recovery. "In response to the rising trend of fatal crashes, the NRSA is advocating for intensified enforcement of road traffic regulations by the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department across the Country," the statement said.

The fatal crash occurred on the Atwedie-Asankare section of the N6 Highway and also left several people with severe injuries.
