Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has shed light on his decision to remain silent during the peak of the campaign season for the 2024 election.

In a video clip of a recent interview shared on social media, the former Assin Central legislator said that comments he had previously made were used against him after he declared his intention to contest the party's flagbearership.

Ken Agyapong said he came under heavy criticism within the party after he declared his intention to contest for the presidential slot.

According to him, some remarks he had made in the past, which were previously welcomed by the party and targeted at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), were suddenly used as tools to discredit him. "When I was criticising the NDC, my party was happy.
