The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has responded to public criticism over the stringent bail conditions imposed on former Ghana Airports Company Board Chair, Paul Adom-Otchere, insisting the measures are necessary and lawful.
In a video excerpt explaining the OSP's stance, a representative stated: "The OSP has a suspect and you say you do not have any landed property, you can't bail yourself if you don't have any landed property.
We move with the value of the property.
Bring what you have." The official emphasized that requiring landed property as bail is standard practice and acts as a deterrent to absconding: "It is also to encourage you not to run because if you run away, that property will be confiscated to the state.
