A private legal practitioner, Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers, has called on the rank and file of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to take decisive action against officers captured in a viral video assaulting a civilian who was granting an interview to a Joy News journalist.
The incident which occurred at a demolition site which happened to be a warehouse belonging to businessman Daniel McKorley in Accra, has sparked widespread condemnation from the public.
According to 3news.com report on August 1, 2025, Brako-Powers described the conduct of the uniformed officers as unacceptable and a threat to press freedom and civil liberties.
He explained that 'such intolerance' displayed by the personnel from 'Ghana's number one disciplined force' should not be entertained. "These days, it appears our security agencies are becoming intolerant.
