Martin Amidu has raised serious concerns over Attorney-General Dominic Ayine's handling of the UNIBANK case involving Dr.
Kwabena Duffuor, describing his conduct as a clear conflict of interest and a betrayal of prosecutorial impartiality.
The Former Special Prosecutor and Attorney-General criticized a meeting convened by Ayine on 25 March 2025, calling it "clearly tainted" due to Ayine's previous role as legal counsel for Kwabena Duffuor. "What comes out unmistakably to me in the seven-page brief was that Dominic Ayine, Kwabena Duffour's previous lawyer, was negotiating with Dominic Ayine the Attorney-General," Amidu in an open letter.
He argued that such dual roles undermine the integrity of the judicial process, especially given that the case involved a total criminal charge of GH₵1.2 billion and a separate civil exposure of GH₵5.7 billion.
