Martin Amidu has sharply criticised Attorney-General Dominic Ayine's justification for dropping charges in the Republic v.

Kwabena Duffour & 7 Others case, describing his explanation as "the most dishonourable and dishonest brief" he has encountered in his decades-long legal career.

The Former Special Prosecutor said he delayed publishing his response in anticipation of a promised explanation by the Attorney-General, which was delivered on Monday, July 28, 2025, in a nine-page press briefing.

The briefing, according to Ayine, aimed to provide "further details" on his controversial decision to enter a nolle prosequi - a legal procedure to discontinue prosecution - in the high-profile case involving former Finance Minister Dr.
