Former Black Stars captain John Mensah believes the current team can qualify for the World Cup in North America ahead of the qualifiers against Chad and Mali. Ghana sits top of Group I, three points adrift of second-place Comoros, and could seal their spot at the tournament with victories over their next opponents.
The Black Stars travel to Chad for matchday seven on September 7 before hosting West African rivals Mali on September 11 in Accra.
Mensah, who played for the Black Stars at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, insists if the team replicates the performance of the last international window then they have a huge chance of qualifying for the competition. "If they play like the way they played the last two games, I believe they can qualify.
They are playing well now and they know each other very well.
