Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has signalled that the government is actively working with Nigerian authorities to ease recent tensions surrounding the rumoured creation of an 'Igbo Kingdom' in Ghana's Ningo Prampram area.

The controversy began with speculation that 50 acres of land were being set aside for this purpose, leading to public concern and intense debate online and within local communities.

However, the leader of the Igbo community in Ghana, Eze Jude Chukwudi Ihenetu, has publicly denied these claims, terming them as false and misleading.

Following a meeting with a Nigerian delegation, Ablakwa stressed that the government is dedicated to preventing any conflict that could threaten the peaceful relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.
