The (EC) has set Tuesday, September 2, 2025, as the date for the by-election in the Akwatia Constituency.
The move has been necessitated by the untimely demise of the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Ernest Kumi, who passed away on July 7, 2025.
In line with Article 112(5) of the 1992 Constitution, the has accordingly declared the parliamentary seat for the constituency vacant, requiring a by-election.
