Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia by-election, Hon Solomon Kwame Asomadu, has paid a solemn tribute to the late Ernest Yaw Kumi, pledging to honour his memory and carry forward his unfinished vision for the constituency.

Speaking during his formal introduction at the NPP's Constituency Conference and campaign launch captured exclusively by MyNewsGh, Hon Asomadu addressed the people of Akwatia with a deep sense of purpose and reverence. "Hon Ernest Yaw Kumi, rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord," he said. "I promise to continue the good works you began for Akwatia and to bring victory home for the New Patriotic Party." He vowed to preserve and expand on the vision laid out by the former MP, whose sudden passing created a vacuum in the political landscape of the constituency.

Asomadu described his candidacy as a continuation of that legacy and urged supporters to unite behind him. "We must work together.

Without unity, we risk appearing divided and weak," he stressed. "Let us come together, rally around this campaign, and win this by-election as one strong party." Meanwhile, Jeff Konadu, the NPP's Director of Operations in the Eastern Region, has come to the defense of the party's decision to endorse Hon Asomadu as its candidate.
