A seven-year-old class two pupil, Jenissi Afena Amponsah Kyeremeh, has reportedly died following a stampede at a graduation ceremony at Golden Child Academy in Berekum, Bono Region.
The incident occurred during the school's end-of-year celebration, leading to chaos that allegedly resulted in the young girl's death and injuries to other children.
According to adomonline.com report on July 30, 2025, the mother of the deceased, Beatrice Afena, expressed deep sorrow and anger over the school's response.
She said she was informed of the incident by her sister and rushed to the Holy Family Catholic Hospital, where she was told her daughter had died. "My daughter lost her life, and yet the school continued with the celebration as if nothing had happened.
