Ghana football legend Andre Ayew has urged the Black Queens to build on their 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) bronze medal and secure qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Ayew made the call during a dinner with the team hosted by Ghana's Vice President, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, on Tuesday, July 29.
The Black Queens arrived in Accra on Monday to a heroic welcome after clinching third place at WAFCON, their first podium finish since 2016.
Hundreds of fans gathered at Kotoka International Airport as early as 4:00 am, celebrating the team's dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over South Africa following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
