Ghana international Thomas Partey is at the centre of serious allegations involving blackmail and sexual assault, with new details emerging about his past relationship with Moroccan model Sara Bella.
According to reports, Bella allegedly attempted to blackmail the former Arsenal midfielder following the collapse of their engagement.
Their relationship reportedly began when Bella moved to the UK for her studies, and Partey, at the time a practising Christian, converted to Islam and adopted the name "Yakubu" â a decision he attributed to love.
The relationship, however, deteriorated when Partey reportedly pulled out of marriage plans, sparking a fallout that now intersects with the criminal charges he is facing.
