The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced a temporal closure of the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit at the 37 Military Hospital for routine fumigation and maintenance.

In a statement shared by the Ghana Armed Forces' (GAF) via their X account on August 1, 2025, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, the Acting Director General of Public Relations for the GAF, noted that the closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 4, and will last until Wednesday, August 13, 2025. "This scheduled exercise is part of the hospital's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety of patients and staff," the statement partly stated.

The statement added that during this period of closure, all trauma and surgical emergency cases will be directed to the Simango Ward, which will serve as the temporary unit.

The GAF assured the public that steps have been taken to ensure continuous care and minimal disruption.
