In a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, on July 26, 2025, the NPP described as an "iconic music legend" whose remarkable contributions to the Ghanaian music industry touched countless lives.
The party praised his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, describing him as a national treasure whose music brought joy, comfort, and inspiration to millions.
The NPP acknowledged 's significant role in its political campaigns, particularly through the famous track "Nana Ye Winner", which featured prominently in the party's 2008, 2012, and 2016 election campaigns.
