Correspondence from the Northern Region The Paramount Chief of the Gulkpegu Traditional Area (Tamale), Naa Yab Gukpe-Naa, has cautioned Mamprusi and Kusaasi troublemakers in the Tamale Metropolis to abort any plans of attacking each other.
According to Choggu Naa Mahamadu, who spoke on behalf of the Gulkpe-Naa, traditional authorities in the metropolis will not countenance any violent confrontation between the two tribes in Tamale and Dagbon at large, saying that once they are in Tamale, they must see themselves as brothers and not enemies.
Speaking to the media in Tamale on Saturday, Naa Yab Choggu Naa warned that anyone who sparks any violence between the two feuding factions in Tamale would not only be dealt with but would have their properties confiscated by traditional authorities. "The misunderstanding is in Bawku and must therefore not be settled in Tamale or Dagbon.
Dagbon is peace-loving and we do not welcome any such attempts" he said.
