Ghana's Black Queens will battle South Africa in the third-place playoff of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday, July 26, at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.

Ghana's dreams of lifting the trophy came to an end after a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to hosts Morocco in the semi-final at Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The match had finished 1-1 after extra time, with missed spot-kicks from Evelyn Badu and Comfort Yeboah proving decisive.

South Africa, the defending champions, were edged out 2-1 by Nigeria in the other semi-final.
