English-Ghanaian defender Kelvin Abrefa proved vital for Reading as they earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers in League One on Wednesday night.

In front of an excited crowd at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, the game began with Bolton dominating possession but struggling to break Reading down.

The first half ended goalless, with the visitors defending resolutely despite being pinned back.

Bolton finally struck in the 52nd minute when Mason Burstow finished off a neat move from Amario Cozier-Duberry's pass, sending the home fans into celebration.
