Belgium international Jeremy Doku has officially obtained Ghanaian citizenship after receiving his passport during a recent visit to the West African country.

The 23-year-old Manchester City winger, who was born in Antwerp to Ghanaian parents, has long maintained strong ties to his heritage despite representing Belgium at international level.

Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, confirmed that the passport was issued at the personal request of Doku and his family.

With the biometric passport now in hand, Doku can travel to Ghana without restrictions and participate more freely in national and cultural engagements.
