Bright Asamoah Brefo, the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai has appealed to Parliament to consider Bibiani Goldstars' participation in this year's Democracy Cup.
The maiden edition, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2024, featured a clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, with the Porcupine Warriors emerging victorious.
The Democracy Cup was introduced in 2024 as a one-off football competition initiated by the Parliament of Ghana to promote civic engagement and national unity through sports.
As the Parliamentary Service of Ghana prepares for the launch of the second edition of the annual Democracy Cup football match, the leader of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency has advocated for the participation of Goldstars in the upcoming competition following their exploits in the recently concluded campaign. "Let me appeal to the leadership of Parliament to consider Bibiani Goldstars as one of the teams to play in this year's Democracy Cup organized by Parliament" he said on the floor of Parliament.
