The Minister of Health, has announced that the government has disbursed over GH¢1.38 billion to healthcare providers in the first half of 2025.

Speaking during the second edition of the Government Accountability Series on Friday, July 18, 2025, he described the move as part of broader efforts to strengthen the scheme's funding and ensure timely support for service providers.

He further announced that the government had cleared GH¢ 603 million in outstanding claims owed to service providers. "I'm proud to announce a total of GH¢603 million as of December 2024, have been fully settled.

This milestone demonstrates our commitment, government's steadfast dedication to timely payments and fulfilling our obligations to healthcare providers. "In the first half of the 2025 alone, The National Health Insurance Authority disbursed over GH¢1.38 billion to providers reflecting a system that is stronger, more responsive and more reliable than ever before," he stated.
