Black Satellites coach, Desmond Ofei, has described their narrow win against Benin as a hard-earned one.
Ghana secured a place in the semifinals in the ongoing U-20 WAFU B Championship on Wednesday with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Young Cheetahs at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Bless Ege's second-half strike was enough as the Black Satellites booked a place in the last four.
Speaking in a post-match presser, the Black Stars assistant coach admitted they were handed a very tough opposition, but added they still couldn't get distracted as they still stood on their toes to fight for the victory "It's a hard-fought victory," Ofei said. "Honestly, we needed the win, so we had to show some character, and the boys showed that today, and that was what we were missing in our last game, and luckily we came away with a good goal and that led to the three points, so we are very happy." With goal difference, the Black Satellites will finish second in Group A and will face the winner of Group B in the semi-final.
