Award-winning Ghanaian Gospel singer Perez Musik has paid glowing tribute to fellow artiste Cwesi Oteng for his groundbreaking role in Ghana's gospel music landscape, particularly in shaping the contemporary urban gospel genre. Speaking on Joy Prime's Changes show with Roselyn Felli, Perez Musik recalled the impact of Cwesi Oteng's 2012 hit song 'God Dey Bless Me', describing it as a defining moment that opened doors for many young gospel musicians, including himself."Cwesi Oteng is just an amazing inspiration when he did the 'God Dey Bless Me.' There are a lot of things we're enjoying now as musicians which would have been difficult if Cwesi hadn't come.
He paved the way for a lot of things," the Hewale Lala hitmaker said.
Perez Musik emphasized that Cwesi Oteng's contributions went beyond music, noting that the song marked a cultural shift that gave visibility and relevance to a new wave of gospel artistes.
He credited Cwesi for creating a platform that many continue to benefit from today.
