The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has cut power to several public institutions in Dormaa Municipality over unpaid electricity bills, including the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Ghana Ambulance Service.
During a two-week Mass Revenue Mobilization and Loss Control Exercise, NEDCo disconnected the GNFS's main and sub-stations at the Dormaa Ahenkro bus terminal, which collectively owe GH¢5,779.
Similarly, the Ghana Ambulance Service main station in Dormaa Ahenkro was disconnected for an outstanding bill of GH¢10,196.
John Anim Peprah, NEDCo's Station Supervisor in Dormaa Ahenkro, said the municipality's total debt to the company stands at GH¢20.33 million. "We urge all customers to pay their bills promptly and keep receipts as proof to avoid disconnection," he told the media.
