Search and rescue efforts are still underway at Akyem Wankyi in the Akwatia Constituency, where a mining pit collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, trapping several illegal miners.
Rescue teams, made up of local residents and police personnel, have so far pulled out four miners.
Tragically, three were confirmed dead while the fourth was in critical condition and was rushed to St.
Dominic Hospital in Akwatia for urgent treatment.
