The Minister of Energy and Green Transition and Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, , has announced the installation of new street lights by the government across the country as part of efforts to drive Ghana's 24-hour economic agenda.
Speaking to the media during the second episode of the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, July 16, the minister explained that the initiative is part of the government's street lightening policy aimed at boosting night time commercial activity. "You would have also seen that we've started installing new streetlights.
As part of our streetlighting policy, we are going to install a lot more in line with our 24-hour economic policy to provide that impetus for night business activity," he stated.
The enhanced lighting infrastructure is expected to improve safety, promote productivity, and support the growth of local businesses that operate beyond daylight hours.
