Former Ghana striker Joetex Frimpong has explained the reason for the Black Stars' recent struggles at international competitions, comparing the current team to the old squad. Frimpong played for the Black Stars in the early 2000s and was part of the Ghana team that first qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
He eventually made 11 appearances, scoring two goals for the Black Stars.
During Frimpong's time with the national team, the Black Stars consistently reached the knockout stages of international tournaments.
However, the current team has not been able to go beyond the group stage of their last three competitions and failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
