Nico Williams has praised his big brother, Inaki Williams, positive impact, insisting that he is the best person to captain Athletic Club.
Ahead of the 2025/26 Spanish La Liga season, the club has confirmed the Ghana international as their new captain.
Inaki replaces Spanish international Oscar De Marcos as the substantive captain.
However, Nico, after signing a new long-term deal at the club, praised his brother for his positive impact and described him as the best man to lead the club as captain. "We have both always dreamed of this moment, my brother is a reference point for everyone and above all for me," the 22-year-old said. "I think he's the best man to be captain, I'm looking forward to seeing him wearing the armband for a long time," he added.
