The Constituency Organiser of the (NPP) in the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency, Samuel Agyei Donkor, popularly known as Rabbi, has been remanded into police custody for allegedly assaulting a farmer with a chainsaw.
The incident happened at Akyem Bontodiase in the Eastern Region when the accused, a timber dealer, reportedly went to fell trees near the town's public cemetery.
According to a report by starrfm.com.gh, the farmer, Kofi Boakye, confronted Donkor and demanded to know whether he had authorisation to harvest timber from the site.
The confrontation escalated into a heated exchange, during which the accused allegedly picked up a chainsaw and attempted to attack the farmer.
