Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has assured the public that the Mahama administration will not allow a resurgence of vigilante activities, following violent incidents that disrupted the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun.
Speaking during the Government Accountability Series on July 14, 2025, he disclosed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has been directed to investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. "We will not allow the resurgence of vigilantism.
The IGP has been directed to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book," he said.
The voting process at the Odorkor Methodist 1 polling station was suspended after chaos erupted.
