Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has blamed the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Nana Akua Afriyie's defeat in the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun, absolving the Electoral Commission (EC) of any wrongdoing.
Speaking on The Big Issue on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Mr.
Fuseini pointed to poor communication and internal confusion within the NPP's National Executive Committee (NEC) as the root cause of the party's loss.
He said the party's leadership owed an apology to both Nana Akua Afriyie and the NPP supporters in the constituency. "There is a total breakdown of control and direction in the NEC of the NPP.
