Professor Ransford Gyampo of the University of Ghana has strongly condemned the violent attack on former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson, during the Ablekuma North by-election rerun.
However, he believes she should not have been anywhere near the polling centre in the first place.
Speaking on The Key Points on TV3 on Saturday, July 12, Prof.
Gyampo did not mince words as he addressed both the violence and the circumstances that may have led to it. "Hawa Koomson shouldn't have been allowed to go near the voting centre because she has a past history," he remarked, referring to previous controversies surrounding her involvement in election-related incidents.
