6 in 10 businesses fail to properly account for VAT – GRA

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has raised concerns over persistent Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance challenges, saying several businesses collect VAT from customers but fail to remit the funds to the government.

Mr Sarpong said the GRA was therefore combining technology with stronger enforcement measures to improve VAT compliance and collection.

He added that the GRA would combine the deployment of technology with stronger compliance measures to ensure businesses accurately account for VAT and improve revenue collection.
