Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have withdrawn from the Eko International Tournament in Nigeria.

The Phbians, who lost the President Cup to arch rivals Kotoko last Sunday, announced their decision to withdraw from the tournament due to the changes in time for the competition.

The four-team tournament was earlier slated for July 6 to July 13 but the organisers rescheduled the time to July 13 to 20, forcing Hearts to not compete.

According to the Ghanaian club, the changes interferes with the club's plans, which includes the recovery and return of players to pre-season.
