Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem-Sai has revealed that suspended Chief Justice of Ghana, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo, has filed a new case at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja, Nigeria, in an effort to challenge her suspension and the ongoing removal proceedings against her.

This development comes as three separate petitions seeking her removal continue to be processed in Ghana.

Justice Torkornoo, who was suspended by President John Dramani Mahama in line with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, has already filed legal challenges before the Supreme Court and the High Court.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 8, Srem-Sai confirmed that the ECOWAS Court application was submitted on July 4.
