Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has pointed to a brief lapse in concentration as the key reason behind Ghana's 2-0 loss to South Africa in their opening match at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana held their own early on but were undone by two quick first-half goals from Linda Motlhalo and Jermaine Seoposenwe.
Despite showing more attacking intent in the second half, the Black Queens were unlucky not to score, with Alice Kusi and Evelyn Badu both hitting the woodwork.
Speaking after the game, Coach Bjorkegren admitted: "We were the better team for the first 30 minutes until the goal came.
