The head coach of the Black Queens of Ghana, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, was left disappointed on Monday evening after his side lost 2-0 to South Africa in their opening match at the 2024 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Speaking in his post-match interview, the coach said although he was disappointed with the outcome of the match at full-time, he was not disappointed with the performance of his players. "Of course, I'm a little bit disappointed with the result, but not so disappointed with the performance.
As I said, it was going to be a close game, and I think it was," Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren said.
Following Ghana's 2-0 defeat to South Africa in their opening Group C match, the Black Queens are bottom of the group standings.
