What was declared as a shipment of assorted food items turned out to be something far more illicit.
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a staggering 738 compressed parcels of a substance suspected to be cannabis.
The seizure was made on July 5 at the Swissport Terminal in Accra during a routine inspection.
Investigators discovered the narcotics cleverly concealed in rubber polythene bags and packed into 40 boxes that had been deceitfully labeled to avoid suspicion.
