Self-styled evangelist and former chief priestess, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been found guilty by the Circuit Court in Accra on charges of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.

Before the court proceeds with sentencing, the embattled televangelist has been sent for a pregnancy test-standard procedure under Ghana's sentencing guidelines to determine whether a custodial sentence is appropriate.

The conviction is tied to a controversial television broadcast in 2022, where Agradaa claimed to possess supernatural powers to "double money" for members of the public.

The misleading promotion reportedly deceived several individuals, who ended up losing large sums in their desperate bid for quick financial gain.
