The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has firmly rejected the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to rerun parliamentary elections in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency, describing the move as unjustified and unagreed upon.
The Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Haruna Mohammed, expressed shock and dissatisfaction with the EC's announcement, insisting that the party was not part of any consensus reached to rerun the election. "Our representatives were at the meeting, and I have to put it on record that there was no such agreement with the EC. "That is very evident in the release of the EC itself-that the political parties did not agree," Haruna stated in an interview on Citi FM's Eyewitness News.
He accused the Electoral Commission of taking a unilateral decision and hinted at political manipulation. "We don't know what the EC is up to.
The NPP is not going to give up on this particular fight.
