A recent poll conducted by Global Info Analytics has positioned former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the frontrunner in the flagbearership race for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the survey, Dr Bawumia, who was the NPP's presidential candidate in the 2024 general election, is the preferred choice to lead the party into the 2028 election among declared and likely contenders for the party's upcoming presidential primaries.
The study revealed that 56% of surveyed voters expressed a preference for Dr Bawumia to lead the NPP in 2028.
Coming in second in the poll was former Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, , who has publicly declared his intention to contest the presidential primaries.
