A Singaporean businessman, Toh You Kang, has dragged Ghanaian authorities and individuals to court, claiming he was misled into donating $1.5 million to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 election campaign.

According to Asaase News, the startling claims form part of a human rights lawsuit filed at the Human Rights Division of the High Court in Accra.

In his affidavit, Mr.

Kang alleges that the funds-meant to support the NDC's "24-hour economy" campaign-were handed over through Emmanuel Nii Ashie-Moore, the party's Greater Accra Regional Chairman and a former MP for Adentan.
