According to a report by Asaase News, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries has been arresed by operatives believed to be from National Security.

The development has raised eyebrows within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with some branding the move as politically motivated.

The arrest took place on Sunday, 29 June, at Jumah's residence.

According to Paul Yandoh, Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the NPP, officers arrived unannounced and demanded to speak with him.
