President of policy think tank IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has urged Ghana's president to intervene in the current violence in the Republic of Togo.

Armed military men have been unleashed on Togolese youth groups and civil society members who are protesting and calling for their president to resign.

This was after the president was sworn in as president of the council of ministers, a move that could make him a lifetime president of Togo.

The move by President Faure Gnassingbé has been condemned by political analysts who believe that the decision must be rescinded.
