Former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and Interior minister Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, met on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Police Mosque in Accra, where they both joined congregants for the weekly Jummah prayers.

The moment was captured and shared on X by Bagya Nurudeen with the caption, "Dr Bawumia and Muntaka Mubarak met at the police mosque earlier today for Jummah Prayer." Photos showed the two leaders warmly embracing and smiling after exchanging pleasantries.

Dr Bawumia, who served as Vice President under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Muntaka Mubarak, now serving in the John Dramani Mahama led administration, have long-standing ties with Ghana's Muslim community and are often seen participating in Islamic religious events.

For years, the mosque has served as a symbol of religious tolerance and co-existence.
