Nigerian singer GoodGirl LA has opened up about going through a dark and lonely chapter in her life, revealing that she battled depression and rejection from friends, family, and the industry while refusing to compromise her values.
In a series of raw and deeply personal posts on X (formerly Twitter), the Bless Me hitmaker shared how she endured a period of emotional pain and isolation-choosing instead to channel her struggles into self-growth and artistic focus. "I had periods of unavoidable isolation and just shit, so I charged it," she wrote. "I focused on self-mastery and transmutation, all the while saying no to certain opportunities that nggas would kill for because I stand for something."According to the singer, the industry offered her shortcuts-opportunities that might have elevated her image or status-but at the cost of her integrity.
Her refusal to conform, however, came with a heavy price. "I know what I want and where I'm going, and I won't sell my soul just to belong and keep up appearances.
Nggas called me crazy lol but I am-I'm a f*cking genius."
