Kwadwo Owusu, a 30-year-old illegal miner (galamseyer), has reportedly drowned in a small trench created by an excavator at a mining site, at Manso Adubia in the Amansie South District in the Ashanti Region.
In a post shared on X by EDHUB, it said the deceased, Kwadwo Owusu drowned during break hours at the mining site.
The report further indicated that fellow miners of the deceased suspect that drunkenness made him slip into the trench, which subsequently caused his death.
The Manso Adubia Police have since taken the body to the mortuary, while investigations go on. "A 30-year-old galamseyer identified as Kwadwo Owusu drowned yesterday in a small trench created by an excavator during a break on site at Manso Adubia in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region. "Colleague miners suspect that their co-worker was drunk at the time and ended up in the trench, leading to his tragic death.
The body has been taken to the mortuary by the police in Manso Adubia Community, pending investigation," the post stated.
