The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has paid a heartfelt visit to legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Agya Koo Nimo, as part of a national effort to honour icons of the creative arts sector. The visit, which took place on Wednesday, June 25 in Kumasi, was in line with a directive from former President John Dramani Mahama to celebrate living legends who have made significant contributions to Ghana's cultural identity.
Minister Gomashie was joined by her deputy, Yussif Jajah, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr.
Frank Amoakohene.The team expressed the government's deep appreciation for Agya Koo Nimo's lifelong dedication to music and cultural preservation.
Widely known as the "King of Palmwine Music," the highlife maestro has been instrumental in blending traditional Ghanaian rhythms with modern storytelling, influencing generations of musicians.
