Fifteen (15)  individuals have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command following a special intelligence-driven operation targeting illegal mining activities at Watreso and Preacher Krom in the Manso Adubia area.

The suspects, aged between 21 and 45, were apprehended while actively engaging in galamsey operations-an activity that continues to wreak havoc on Ghana's environment, especially its rivers and forests.

Those arrested include Tahiru Ibrahim, Shaibu Idrissu, Boateng Emmanuel, Jamon Kwaku Samuel, Yaro Patrick, Kofi Boakye, Gubong Mathew, Fatawu Zackari Seidu, Abdul Malik Seidu, Dauda Tahiru, Sampson Grace, Boolangkpuo Freda, Arima Hagar, Kwarteng Vasco, and Kwame Adutwum.

Police also seized an assortment of mining equipment and firearms at the site.
