Policy analyst and engineer Michael Kosi Dedey says the Supreme Court has failed to live up to its constitutional mandate, and expanding its bench will only mask deeper inefficiencies.
This follows Parliament's approval of all seven Supreme Court nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama, on Tuesday June 25.
Despite objections from the Minority caucus, who argued the move was unconstitutional, particularly in light of the Chief Justice's suspension, the Majority pushed through the nominations with a voice vote after a heated debate.
Appearing on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Wednesday, June 25, Dedey dismissed the appointment of seven new Supreme Court justices as unnecessary and ineffective.
